  1. I always watch Trading Places for Christmas and feel it weird to watch it any other time around the year ;-) I also watch an old Danish tv-series from the late 1970'es which has nothing to do with Christmas, but that it the time of year I watch it, so it always remind me of Christmas.

  2. My husband and I kicked off the Christmas movie/special season last night by putting 'National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation' in the DVD player. For me, Christmas is not Christmas until I see 'The Nutcracker' - preferrably live, which I'll be doing this Friday - 'Backadder's Christmas' (I cry with laughter over this one!), 'A Christmas Carol' (with George C. Scott), original 'Grinch', 'Charlie Brown Christmas', 'The Snowman' and 'Santa Claus is Coming to Town'.

  5. Muppet Christmas Carol. Actually, Christmas Carol in any form. Holiday Inn. It's a Wonderful Life. I go in for sappy at Christmas time.

But I do like Scrooged. I may have to find that and watch it again this Christmas.

  8. I am very fond of Muppets Christmas Carol and Mickey's Christmas Carol. I have been watching both of them for years, so they sort of set the season for me. There are others that I will watch, but those are the two that are a staple for this time of the year.

    Thanks for joining in!

  10. Great movies. Love Actually is my new favorite Christmas movie, along with Elf, but the ones you have listed are ones I like too, except for Christmas Vacation. I've never 'got' that movie at all.

Come by my Advent post tomorrow, it's movie related as well.
    Merry Christmas!

My others favorite, are The Christmas Carol, The Santa Clause (Tim Allen), Jingle All the Way, It's a Wonderful Life, Miracle on 34 Streets..etc. Mostly it's the movies that are made-for TV that had the special meaning for me. The traditional and classic movies are plus :)

  19. It's tradition to watch Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Frosty and Frosty Returns and Santa Claus is Coming to Town. Also A Christmas Story, A Christmal Carol, Muppet Christmas Carol and Miracle on 34th Street. We used to watch It's a Wonderful Life every Christmas too but not so much anymore.

I also have two other cartoons that are becoming tradition, Bluetoes the Elf (very cute) and Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer.

  20. We have a Griswold Family Christmas over at our house this year: my husband decorated EVERY! SINGLE! TREE! in our front yard! Actually, it looks rather pretty, and nothing can be as funny as Chevy Chase in that classic film! I agree with you, they are great movies!

  21. I saw a new one yesterday while at my in-laws...starred Danny DeVito and Matthew Broderick. I don't know the title...Devito covers his house with lights and Broderick can't stand it, tries to sabotage it. Funny!
